Music Ministry

At First on Broad, we understand that worship is a uniquely powerful way to connect with God and each other. It is our belief that everyone should be able to offer up their praise and talents to the Lord, and we have many outlets for people to share these gifts. Whether it’s hearing from our 100-year-old organ in the 11:00 service or singing contemporary songs in the early service, we hope to find a fit for anyone who wants to participate.

Sanctuary Choir

Our Sanctuary Choir participates in worship each Sunday. Choir members come together each week to engage in fellowship, prayer support, and ministry. They use their voices to sing and to give praise the Lord. Our choir members enjoy having the opportunity to sing a variety of traditional hymns, occasional classical music, gospel, contemporary, and some of the newest worship songs.

 Handbell Choir

Our Adult Handbell Choir has been a key element of our music ministry for nearly 50 years. This group leads in worship, presents seasonal concerts, and works cooperatively with our other music programs to engage our church and our community in worship. Some of our ringers are seasoned veterans while others have discovered a more recent love for handbells.

Instrumental Ensemble

Our Instrumental Ensemble is a blended group of church and community members who come together to share their love for music and for God. They often lead in worship, accompany our choirs for musicals, and present seasonal concerts. They are always a welcome addition to any service!

9:00 Worship Team

The small intimate atmosphere of our 9:00 worship service allows for a straight-forward and open worship setting. This service musically leans toward contemporary praise songs, and we welcome anyone who is interested in singing or playing an instrument in this style.

First on Broad also often collaborates with other churches in the community to present special programs and worship services. The combined efforts of more than one church allows for even more variety and creativity in the way we worship God.
